National Poinsettia Day is on December 12th each year. Joel Roberts Poinsett, the man who introduced the poinsettia plant to the United States. This day was official recognized that marked the date of his death in 1851. The day was officially accepted by the House of Representatives in 2002 to honor the significance of the poinsettia as the holiday plant.
